THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD
God
said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God spoke out of
pre-meditation and whatever he spoke came to be. The meditation did not in
effect produce anything but defined how what he created became. For instance,
when God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and
the fruit tree yielding its fruit after his kind and the tree yielding
fruit, whose seed is in itself upon the earth,” he did not give specifics to
all the classes of herbs, but he had meditated on it. His words brought about
the existence but meditation defined how it existed.
God’s
word framed and created the world and everything in it (Jn 1:2). The word of
God has the full power of God in it.
For
the word that God speaks is alive and full of power (making it active,
operative, energizing and effective)…(Heb 4:12, amplified).
God’s
word heals and restores health and perfect wholeness.
He
sent his word and heals them and rescues them from the pit
and destruction (Ps 107:20: Amplified).
Many
a time, Jesus spoke and many were made whole. Wholeness refers to a complete
restoration to perfection.
The
word of God delivers, causes liberty from yoke and bondage, sets free from
captivity
…
to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of prison to them
that are bound (Isaiah 61:1)
The
word of God builds and can provide.
And
now brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which
is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all
them which are sanctified. (Acts 20:32).
The
word has the ability to provide all that you have ever needed. Jesus told
Simon,
Launch
out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught.
And
Simon answering said unto him “Master, we have toiled all the night, and have
taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net”
And
when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their
net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other
ship, that they should come and help them (Luke 5:4-7).
“At
thy word, I will let down the net.” The Holy Spirit ministered to me that
Peter’s faith in response to Jesus’ word created the fishes i.e. caused it to
come into physical existence.
Something
spectacular happened in Luke 7, a Roman centurion sent for Jesus to heal his
servant.
….
And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him
saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou
shouldest enter under my roof.
Wherefore
neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word and
my servant shall be healed. (Luke 7:6-7)
This
centurion depended on the word of Jesus alone and received his miracles. The
word of God is dependable, it is infallible. There is nothing lacking in the
word, it is complete and full. If you have the word in you, you have all that
you need.
And
the word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory
as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth (Jn 1:14).
The
word is full of grace and truth, not half or some. Grace is divine influence or
ability to manouver or cause change, truth is reality. The word of God makes
thing real that are not seen as real in the natural. Like the case of the
fishes, there were not real in the flesh, but became real when faith in the
spoken word was activated.
There
is glory in the word. This glory signifies the characteristics of the word. The
bible says it is full of grace (divine influence, favor and earthly blessing)
and truth (reality). The good news is that we have this word in us.
Thy
word have I hid in my heart …(Ps 119:11). And I will put my laws in their
inward parts…(Jer 31:33).
The
Word has a personality
In
the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. All
things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made (Jn
1:1-2).
And
the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us… (Jn1:14).
The
verse 15 says John bares witness.
The
word of God is tangible and can be felt and experienced. John
recounts his experience
That
which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our
eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of
life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and
show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested
unto us; That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also
may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the father, and
with is Son Jesus Christ (1John 1:1-3)
The
word of God is Jesus, he dwelt with us (Emmanuel) and is now in us through the
Holy Spirit. We are characterized by the word. We do all things by the word.
But
the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine
heart, who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from
above:) or, who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again
from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth,
and in they heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Friends,
God is saying here, you don’t need to look up to me, or to wonder when I am
going to come help you, all you need is to look inside of you, reach out to the
word in you and change the situation. Not the word in the bible, nor the word
you hear, but the one that is within you, will bring about a change.
Pastor
Chris says all that we ever need in this life is wrapped up in the word. God
ministered to me that ability to have all things that we need is the ability to
create things into being, and he gave this to man in his word.
For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (word), that
whosoever believeth in him (word) shall not perish but have everlasting life
(Jn 3:16).
You
can rephrase Ps 23 like this
The
Word is my shepherd, I have all that I need, He maketh me to lie in green
pastures, he leads me beside the still waters, he restoreth my soul.
You
see, the word in your mouth must be the same word that God speaks. Pastor
revealed this to us this year, that the word of God in our mouth is God
speaking. This means it is as powerful as Heb 4:12 says it is. Glory to God!!!
He
is the High Priest of our confession
Wherefore,
holy brethren partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High
Priest of our profession (confession, homologia), Christ Jesus (Heb 3:1)
The
Holy Spirit said to me, ”He is not the High Priest and Apostle of your
confession (logia) but of your same confession (homologia).
The
Kjv wrongly rendered the word homologia as confession, but it actually says
“making the same confession.” So Jesus is not the Apostle and High Priest of
any confession but of his confession. We believe his words and speak them as
ours, and he stamps them as sure (as our High Priest). He cannot back up words
he is not sure of. Our words are not dependable as Jesus is, that is why we
must use his words.
This
will be the last time I will be uploading any post in this wonderful group, all
my blog will be seen at my personal blog post. If you are interested follow me
and lets discuss the word. Pls, the blog is open to criticsm and additions.
This is supposed to be a means of sharing and participating together. Till
then, stand strong and firm in the word. All the great things are inside. The
part two of this will be posted in my own blog profile. God bless you.
