SOULICISM AND MAN AS A TRIPARTITE BEING

In Christendom, various doctrines exist and have existed over centuries. Several of them metamorphosing as newer and greater revelations pops forth. Personally, I believe that there is nothing wrong in having a doctrine. After all, God applauded the Rechabites who received a doctrine from their ancestor not to drink alcohol nor live in houses except tents etc. Note: There was no ban on alcohol for the Jews. In fact, they could take it in the temple. So what did God really admire in the Rechabites? Did God say living in houses was sin? No! That was being silly. But they had their choice and stuck with their doctrines and obeyed it strictly. Their obedience to their doctrine was his point of admiration. Yet they never berated others for living in houses or drinking alcohol. This was their own consecration. So dogmas are good if they do not negate the scriptures and if they are not used as benchmark for the definition of sin. Many churches have called their dogmas Laws of Righteousness in order to force their members to do what they prescribe for them. I call that Satanism and Cultism.
Back to Soulicism. It is the doctrine that Man is neither just a Spirit, a soul or a body but man is all of them. In other words, Man is tripartite. For this to be true, that means Man without a body cannot be man. Man without a soul cannot be man, or man without a spirit is not man. This doctrine is stemmed from a theory that God is tripartite. Early Trinitarians and a whole lot now still believes this, and this is their basis of the doctrine of Trinity.
Before I proceed to attempt disband this theory or prove it wrong, I will categorically say that no one has the whole wisdom. I watched a young man preach soulicism and call any other doctrine different from it heresy. That is not wise and he was not being careful with words. As long as your doctrine has no strong scriptural base nor root save for aspersions, you cannot dismiss other theories in that subject as heresy. To call something heresy, it will have to be the Word of God not a man’s thinking. Soulicism has no strong scriptural base, just one or two scriptures that seem to indicate it, and yet exist several scriptures that says different. Yet, the argument for and against it have no strong scriptural base, so by the time I have tried to demolish this doctrine and another comes up with another mighty theory demolishing my counter, it should not be dismissed as heresy. But again I believe myself faithful enough for anyone to consider my words.
God is not a Tripartite being!
Soulicism is hinged on the tripartite nature of God, because for anyone to understand Man, he must understand God. Man is as complicated as God because God made man as him. The bible clearly says God is a Spirit. Never said he is a soul. God is a spirit. The angels are spirits, the demons are also spirits. If God is a Spirit and he made man in his own image and likeness and with his own dna, then Man must be Spirit. This is the normal counter argument against soulicism.
But the bible also says man became a living soul (Gen 2:7). Severally has referred to man as a soul. For example, the soul that sinneth shall die etc. I found all such scriptures in the old testament, then I did a little research and I found the common error, one so common that many bible translators have been known to make in other verses. If God is a Spirit, Man must also be a spirit. But will the bible call man a soul and call God a spirit. Because if Man is a Soul, then God is a soul too.
Now the Hebrew word used for soul is nephesh which means a lot of things in the Hebrew dictionary:
properly a breathing creature, that is, animal or (abstractly) vitality; used very widely in a literal, accommodated or figurative sense (bodily or mental): - any, appetite, beast, body, breath, creature, lust, man, me, mind, mortality, one, own, person, pleasure, (her-, him-, my-, thy-) self, them (your) -selves, + slay, soul, + tablet, they, thing, ( she) will,  would have it.

Note some words there, breathing creature, creature, man, person, self, them (your) selves, also there is soul in it too as a definition. Any of these words would have been used in that scripture. But soul was chosen. It could have read, and man became a living creature….. or ….and man became a living being.. Or and man became a living person… but a soul was used instead.
Now let me tell you why the translators used soul as a direct translation for nephesh all throughout the old testament. They didn’t understand these abstract words. For instance Spirit. The Hebrew writers didn’t understand the abstract term called Spirit, they couldn’t see it, touch it and it behaved like a wind such that you can only see the effect but not what causes the effect. So they used a Hebrew word to define it, ruach meaning breath or wind. In the Greek, the same happened and yet they couldn’t explain these terms and they used the word pneuma meaning wind but used psuche meaning breath.
psuchē
psoo-khay'
From G5594; breath, that is, (by implication) spirit, abstractly or concretely (the animal sentient principle only; thus distinguished on the one hand from G4151, which is the rational and immortal soul; and on the other from G2222, which is mere vitality, even of plants: these terms thus exactly correspond respectively to the Hebrew [H5315], [H7307] and [H2416]: - heart (+ -ily), life, mind, soul, + us, + you.
pneuma
pnyoo'-mah
From G4154; a current of air, that is, breath (blast) or a breeze; by analogy or figuratively a spirit, that is, (human) the rational soul, (by implication) vital principle, mental disposition, etc., or (superhuman) an angel, daemon, or (divine) God, Christ’s spirit, the Holy spirit: - ghost, life, spirit (-ual, -ually), mind. Compare G5590.

You will notice that the dictionary meaning of these two words are very similar though it includes its assumed meaning and usage. Pneuma is also breath like ruach and like psuche. So how did the Bible translators give a definition of what Soul was? What is a Spirit? Since these words were synonyms, how can you rightly separate them? Then why do they differ greatly in meaning from the Hebrew word, nephesh that is translated for soul throughout the Old Testament.
One thing is certain, the Old Testament Authors did not intend to use the nephesh as soul. Nephesh means being, self, person. So Gen 2:7 was supposed to read
“… and man became a living being”
Quite simply this is the most obvious translation. Copy this same correction in every other place nephesh was used as soul and you will have clarity.
Man exist even without a body as the parable of Lazarus does indicate but not on earth. Our consciousness is retained as well as our memory and thinking faculties. To call man a soul is to say Man is his consciousness. Man cannot be his consciousness. Man has consciousness but that is not who he is. Even in Medicine, we know that people get conscious, they are not the embodiment of their consciousness. This is a question to the real nature of man. And like I have said, the answer lies in what the bible says about God.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
(Joh 4:24 KJV)

This takes me to the Tripartite nature of God as has been suggested before.
God is not Spirit, Soul and Body. The Father is not the Soul of God, nor is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit or Jesus the Body of God.
The Lord your God is one. The Godhead is not a council of three Gods who walk in tandem.
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
(Mar 12:29-30 KJV)

There exist only one being who is God and he is the Father over all. In heaven, there are no three thrones, but only one and seated on it is Jesus.
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
(Rev 3:21 KJV)

On earth, Jesus had Spirit, Soul and body like any ordinary man. Remember, the Spirit of God came on him much later in his thirties. So he was not God’s body. He is the image of the eternally invisible God.
I believe God to be naturally invisible. No one can see him, not even the angels. The bible says so. He is naturally invisible (Heb 1:3) and Jesus is his only physical representation. Someone once called God the Universe though he tried to make it impersonal, inanimate. But God is a being and yes he is the nature, he is the system, he is all the universes. All of the whole physical and spiritual structures exist in him. The bible says all things consist of him. He is in all things and all things live in him. Then yet, he is embedded in Jesus as the only physical representation of God.
I also believe every living being is a Spirit and has a soul (consciousness) and lives in a body. The body of course can be changed. When we die, we strip off this terrestrial body and take up a celestial one. So Man can never be the body, nor is his body a component of him. I term the Spirit as the person and the soul as the personality. Many have given their definitions on the soul previously, but I know that the bible never gave any such definition. The soul was simply called breath. But filled with God’s wisdom and by the aid of observation, we all agree that the soul is the mental realm. To me, the Spirit is the main person, but the soul is the description of the character and personality of the Spirit. I do not believe or accept that the soul stays separately, in fact I believe that the soul behaves like the brain. I call it the brain of the Spirit. It is with the Spirit. This explains why the bible writers gave them very similar names because the Soul is in the Spirit. It is not a separate component that exist on its own. When Lazarus died, he went to Abraham’s bosom having his consciousness. His soul didn’t go there and his Spirit somewhere different. It is not possible for such. The Spirit is the life. So I believe God to be one Supreme being and the Holy Spirit is that which proceeds from God to act and function as God in every capacity of God 100% of his personality and abilities. In otherwords, The Holy Spirit is God in his Omnipresence. God is not a tripartite being. God is simply a Spirit. If the father is a soul, yet the bible calls him a Spirit, one will attempt to call the Holy Spirit the soul like the young man who I met preaching soulicism. It was quite uncomfortable for him.
I have attempted to be careful with my propositions and theories, stating them as mine alone and not universal truth but I have also expressed authority where the scripture is concerned. There are implications to this soulicism and that is why I took my time to disband it. I will share them consequently.
