UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM OF GOD pt 1

I have always to write this post. This had been a recent study of mine. The kingdom of God has become my priority. I have found that understanding of this single concept is the key to achieving full purpose in life. The Holy Spirit revealed a lot of things concerning thins and when I read Dr. Myles Munroe's book on this subject i was enthusiastic. He really nailed it on the head. Most of what I will be writing on are excerpts from his books.

The Kingdom of God dates far back in the creation of the earth. Let us first see the definition of the concept Kingdom.

"A kingdom is the sovereign rule of a King over a territory (domain) and subjects impacting it with his will, purpose and intent".
The kingdom of God means God's will executed, God's jurisdiction, Heaven's influence, God's administration and God's impact and influence.
"A kingdom is therefore, the governing influence of a king over his territory, impacting it with his personal will, purpose, and intent, producing a culture, values, morals, and lifestyle that reflects the King's desires and nature for his citizens."

Now in democracy, the president or prime minister is elected. His right to rule is given to him by the people. But in the Kingdom, the right to rule is inherent in the king by birth. God's right as King over the heaven and the earth is inherent in him as he created them. The kingdom of God comprises of the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of Earth.
Psa_115:16  The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
The Kingdom of earth is a colony of the kingdom of God. Its headquarters is in the Kingdom of Heaven. So the Kingdom of heaven is the spiritual authority over the earth.
The word kingdom is seen in Genesis 1.
Gen 1:26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion (râdâh - rule) over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Man was set up to be the regent King over the earth. God's original intent was to rule the earth through man. Man was created to rule, dominate and influence the earth with the influence of God (grace).
Let us look at the garden of Eden which was a case study of the Kingdom on Earth. God put Adam in the garden of Eden. Though God gave the earth to Adam, he first gave him a garden to begin. From which he is to extend to the whole world. God's principles never change, though his methods do. Every man is given nations, lands to rule. maybe you are to reign over a whole continent, but he will first entrust your classroom, your secondary school or your university. What you do with your little spot (garden) will determine how you will handle your destiny. Jesus said, "he that is faithful with little is faithful with much". note he didnt say "will be faithful with much", but said "is faithful with much". There are many who are praying for so much. They want to rule over many, possess so much, but yet they cant manage a little money. They pray for to pastor a church, but they cant manage a cell. They want to speak to nations, yet they cant speak to people around them. "Do not neglect your small beginning".
Study the book of Genesis 2:8-17. Eden was described there. There were beautiful trees placed there. Great trees like the tree of knowledge, and the tree of life. Man had a wonderful life. He could eat every herb and not be hurt. there were no poisonous fruit. He didnt have to worry about cancer or diarrhoe or typhoid. All things worked together for him. Every animal was subject to him. He had all things at his beck and call. This was the glory of the Kingdom under the influence of God under the reign of man. There might be someone reading this post, and you are in this position, where you are enjoying your own garden, all seems to work out for you, remember that your position will be tested soon. It is from there you will graduate to the world that is your portion. If you miss out of managing your own Eden, you will miss out of possessing the world just like Adam. At the fall of Adam, He didnt lose the garden, but a Kingdom. There is a glory of the Kingdom. It is more important than the territorial boundary of the Kingdom. Without the glory of the Kingdom, you will be a slave in your own Kingdom.
Rom 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Man fell from glory and became a slave in his own kingdom. A kingdom is all about the influence of the King. If a King loses that influence then he becomes like a peasant. It wasnt a function of being chased out of his territory. but a loss of glory, influence. Nebuchadnezzar was chased not out of his kingdom but right into it, but without a glory of a king, instead he was given a glory of an animal. Yet when he was given his own little garden, he let pride get into him. It seemed like everything was working out, he made kings his servants, he was always victorious, he had riches untold. Brother, if that is your story, watch out for soon the serpent will speak, be ready to stand your ground and finish that which God has called you that you might enter into your kingdom. If all is working out for you, you are healing the sick, raising the dead, money is made available to you at your call, miracles are happening everywhere, beware, the serpent will soon speak. Stand your ground. that is just your little garden. Your main kingdom is yet to come. that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Man fell from glory, he lost of the glory of the King. he became a peasant, a slave in his own domain. how pitiful was that. When God visited and the voice of the Lord was walking about the garden he hid. God only visited, note that, because when God gives something to you, he will not intrude on it. He lets you make decision. "And let them have dominion". If he comes and rule your life, they you wont have dominion over it. he visited. He wanted to man to meet him for advice on what to do. It was a King-king visitation, only to his surprise he saw this other king hiding. Ah, that was new to him, Kings don't hide, nor turn their back. they neither retreat nor surrender. A king is known for his extraordinary boldness. What's got into him, he wondered. As i study the fall of man, I begin to understand how bad God felt over the situation. The will of man was God's greatest gift to him. It is a power of a King to rule and to influence. The will is the executor of the King's grace. Yet man lost his will to Satan and made Satan king over the earth. The creator saw his own image and likeness being transformed into that of a peasant, an animal. he lost his will and could therefore not rule. "But he has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind", Apostle Paul's words to his son, Timothy. but man received that spirit of fear from the devil. Man lost his dominion through carelessness, negligence and disobedience. If you are in your garden and things are begining to work out for you, take heed and be watchful lest the enemy makes you a slave of your own kingdom. be watchful, look out for communication with the source of glory that you do not forget what you are. I will be releasing the other part soon. We will be discussing, man's return to this glory and learn how to function from it. God bless you
