PRINCIPLE OF PROSPERITY
The first among the Keys of the Kingdom we will be
discussing is the Principle of Prosperity. This is a vital message for the
church today. There are 2 laws that function here. I call them by-laws:
- · Principle of Giving
- · Principle of Management
Principle of Giving:
Let’s check out this passage:….
Luke 4:18-19
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to
preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the
prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to
proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
NIV
We can observe the first recipients of this gospel. Some
people being more spiritual than the Holy Spirit will claim that he is
referring to the poor in spirit there. Well I hope you also mean he is
referring to the blind in spirit too? Another will claim that this means Jesus
spoke the good news of repentance to the poor too. Does that even sound like a
good news. Were the poor bereaved of such news before? We know that this was not
so. The message of repentance was made broadcast to all and sundry amongst the
Jews. In fact, they constantly lived in fear of sin that they constantly needed
forgiveness. Sadly, this is the state of many Christians today. But I have got
a good news for you, whether poor in the Spirit or poor in the flesh. He has
done it! Glory to God! Let’s check out the kind of gospel he told the poor.
Luke 6:38
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed
down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with
the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
NIV
Here is a principle of immense importance. God knew the
selfishness of men’s heart, the greed and the vanity that fester within. He
placed the principle of prosperity to be hinged on core selflessness. This is
what Jesus demonstrated with the rich young man who offered to follow him. He
had to give up all he had. He had to sacrifice his selfishness on the altar of
sacrifice. This will put a dependence on God and not physical goods. The man
was not ready for the Godkind of prosperity. This kind of prosperity is
actually the true and only prosperity. The other kind is materialistic and is
vain and a mere illusion of success. They only rise up to crash. To prosper,
this principle of giving must be applied.
Now it is important to note that this principle is not
exclusive to Believers in Christ only, but also to unbelievers alike. God set
up this principle even before the foundation of the world, but his children are
even ignorant of these principles. Its imperative to know also that the Kingdom
of earth is also a part of the Kingdom of God and so some principles of God are
applicable only to earth and there are some which are applicable in both Heaven
and earth. What I mean is this: Some principles can function only on earth and
were ordained by God, but there are also higher principles that function even
above the earth’s limit. These principles are rarely applied in earth as they
are mysteries but can work here on earth. These kinds of principles are
actually in contrast with the earthling principles and conflict with it. They
are like 2 opposite forces but equally real. Probably in the course of this
series, I might border on them. Now, unbelievers can benefit from earthling
principles and it will work for them, but Christians can function from the
superior heavenly principles which are upgraded and much more advanced than
earthling principles. Most of the rich men who top the economic charts in the
World today, apply this principle. They are fluent givers to charity and
humanitarian project. They are therefore taking advantage of cosmic principles
to stir up greater wealth for themselves.
This is a secret the poor had never known. The poor who are
usually overtly self-conscious of their lack and poverty are very reluctant to
consider parting with their possessions to help others of similar predicament.
Poverty is flanked majorly by self-centeredness and selfishness. Most poor
people become opportunists. This wrong and terrible mentality stretches them
even poorer still. The universe is built in with a Basic Input and Output
System (BIOS) command:
“Whatever a man sows, he reaps” This might easily be
understood by Agriculturalist, but the Physicists might also appreciate it in
this form, the 3rd law of Thermodynamics, “Action begats
reaction”(paraphrased). The agriculturalist will also acknowledge that if a man
sows a seed, he is most likely to receive even much more than he sowed. So if
he sows a seed, the seed germinates and reproduces much more plants, which
produces more seeds and produces greater harvest. The Physicists will also
agree that the force upending inertia produces a far greater reaction force due
to momentum. All of this was summarized in Jesus statement in Luke 6:38:
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed
down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with
the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
It is clearly seen that the bible is an amazing book full of
secrets that lesser men cannot comprehend. This is true Christianity. Let me
reiterate this for the benefit of scientist who are reading this post. “The
bible never said the earth is flat, rather it emphasizes its spherical nature
(rather the circular nature of the earth as such words like sphere were not
known to the early English translators of then-years) in Isaiah 40:22”
Isa 40:22
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its
people are like grasshoppers.
NIV
See you in our next blog as we discuss more principles such
as Management. Good bye
