Truth about prosperity
TRUTH ABOUT PROSPERITY
I have bin wantint to talk about this for a long time now, but I will finally release the revelation on this now. This topic has caused untold controversy in the church. There are some that are tagged prosperity churches. Well I know I will be able to convince you and not confuse you on this truth. No doubt some might not accept or believe it, somemight classify it as fallacy while some might say it is missing something well. I will let the scriptures be the judge.
Prosperity can be defined as a state of total well being and overflowing abundance. It means fluorishing in all things, excelling in all things and succeeding in anything you lay your hands to do. Seeing this definition, one will wonder, is it God's will for christians to prosper? Certainly yes! I find it difficult to understand why any christian will doubt it. Our God is not a masochist, he is a loving God. He said the plans he has for us are not evil but good to bring us to an expected end. 3 john :2 says, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health even as thy soul prospereth." God blessed Adam in the garden of Eden saying, be fruitful and multiply and fill the whole earth. It is too clear that God wants us to prosper beyond all measure. One might ask, "why am I not experiencing this prosperity". The answer is quite simple. "For if by one man's offence death reigned through that one man, how much more they which received abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness shall reign in life as kings through this one man". The key word is receive. The greek translation is lambano, which means to seize, take a hold of. It is God's job to give (which he has done through the Holy Ghost) but it is our job to receive and walk (function) in it. Gal 5:25 says, "if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."
Having established that God wants us to prosper, let us proceed to how we can apply God's principle of prosperity. The things of the kingdom are governed by principles. God has revealed these principles to us through his Spirit. So therefore we are privy to these information. Prosperity is a blessing, but there is a key to unlocking this blessing to function in our daily lives. The recent teachings in the church concerning prosperity seem to suggest that giving to a church or minister is the key to unleashing God's prosperity. I ultimately beg to differ. We can go back to earliest idea God gave for prosperity.
When God blessed Adam, he said be fruitful and multiply and fill the whole earth. There is no prosperity without responsibility. God blessed Adam with ability to be productive in anything he does and to expand, and to spread out, yet he gave him a little spot - garden of eden. He was to prove himself by being productive in eden before extending to the rest of the world. God's principles never change, but his methods do. Jesus said, "he that is faithful with little will be faithful with much". Adam had to prove his ability to prosper righ there in eden before he could spread out. You see, God keeps on training us with the little things present in order to prepare for the bigger things ahead. The children of Israel fought two little wars in the wilderness, to prepare them for the major wars they were to fight in canaan. David had to fight the lion and the bear to prepare against Goliath the giant. I could keep on giving examples because this is a major principle of God. Some folks might want to make it big but they are not yet ready to prove themselves worthy and faithful with the little they are handling. Now Adam failed in his quest and ended up selling out to the devil. Just like many businessmen, start up a business only to see it crumble. I can show you the way forward. The way to prosper is responsibility and management. Be faithful in the little you have been given. God gives everyone his own little spot. Start there, then you can expand. What you do with your eden will determine how far you will go. This is why I am here, I can give you the secret to prosper and also to make wealth. You must understand that prosperity is not financial stability, its far above that. It covers every area of your life. Dr. Myles Munroe says, your prosperity is not a function of what God gives to you, but it is dependent on how you manage the resources he made available to you. Remember, God will never give you a finished product, rather, he will graciously give you the raw product and watch what you will do with it. In the same vein, He will never also give you a free land, but a land full of giants, and watch what you will do with it. His only consolation gift to you is his powerful word, "I will be with you, fear not and be of good courage". This is the first in this series, the next discussion, we will be learning how the patriach prospered. What is the blessings of Abraham. How did he worth that. We will be learning from the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. God bless you.
